Trident replacement

I know that many will disagree with me, but I firmly believe that the wholesale replacement of Trident is not only massively expensive, when so many other areas require money (NHS et al) but also sends out entirely the wrong message.

Without doubt, if there is another war to be waged, it is the one against global warming, the greatest challenge that humanity has faced since the last ice age. How can we chastise nations building and testing nuclear weapons and missiles, if we are doing it ourselves ?

Do we believe that we could ever use these weapons. Surely the horrors of Nagasaki & Hiroshima. with atom bombs far, far smaller and less powerful than we have today, have put paid to the idae thay could EVER be used ? Yes ? No ? What do you think ?
