Bill Newton Dunn, Liberal Democrat MEP for East Midlands attended both days of Bakewell Show again this year and spoke to a large number of constituents from across the region on his stand manned by members of Derbyshire Dales Liberal Democrats.

Bill has been attending Bakewell Show since 2003 and says "I always enjoy coming to Bakewell it is one of the best traditional agricultural shows in the country. It demonstrates the strength of the rural economy and it's importance in British life.

"Among questions raised yesterday were the future of agriculture in Britain, the Lisbon Treaty and global warming.

"I would also like to thank the hardworking local Liberal Democrat campaigners for arranging this excellent opportunity to speak to the public person to person."

Bill will be at the show Chatsworth Country Fair on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th August and would welcome at opportunity to meet anyone who would like to come stand. We will post details of the position as soon as we know them early next week.

To arrange an interview with Bill please phone Shirley Holt on 07740919912.
