February 5, 2021 9:34 AM
By Peter Dobbs

The Local Governement Boundary Commission has reported back on the submissions made by various people and organisations following their invitation to make suggestions on the ward boundaries for Derbyshire Dales.

A summary of their findings is here

A map of their new wards is here

Maps of the revised warding for Matlock, Ashbourne and Darley Dale can be found by clicking on the names

The detailed reasoning for their decisions is here

The Derbyshire Dales Liberal Democrats submitted a report that received input not only from Lib Dem members but also from Labour & Green / Independent District Councillors. This is referred to by the Commissioners as the 'Multi Party Scheme'.

Lib Dems believe that working together is a sign of strength - co-operation is the best way to achieve worthwhile change.

We are pleased to note that many of our suggestions have been adopted in what the Commissioners suggest in their report. However there are differences and we now need your input to comment on these and shape our response. We have until 12th April to make our comments but we would like to hear from you as soon as possible so that we can produce a balanced and comprehensive reply.
