Farmer’s View sees Robert Court as PPC for the Dales
The newly refurbished Hurst Farm Social Club in Matlock was the venue for a party to welcome Robert Court as our prospective parliamentary candidate.
The chair of Derbyshire Dales Lib Dems, Claire Cadogan, commented "Although we had thought that a General Election was at least a year away, the Truss-Kwarteng 'mini budget' has been such a disaster for the UK economy, who knows what is going to happen. It is good to know that we have a superb candidate in place, ready to take the fight to the Tories whenever the election might be".
Robert gave some details of the strategy he will adopt in his campaign and spoke of the similarities between the Derbyshire Dales constituency and both North Shropshire and Tiverton & Honiton where Lib Dems have enjoyed spectacular success recently. "If we can build on the sizeable increase in vote share we saw in the last General Election and repeat the 16% swing from Conservative to Lib Dem that we saw in the last District Council election, we have a real chance of creating a major set back for the Tories".
