Let the light shine - where it can.

The Hindu and Sikh communities are celebrating Diwali when candles are lit to bring light into darkness.

Today we have been 'gifted' by the Parliamentary Conservative Party a new Prime Minister who is a Hindu and we wish him and all others who share his faith a 'Happy Diwali'.

However it remains to be seen if he will be able to shed much light into the darkness that the Conservative Party has plunged this country.

It is all too easy to forget that Rishi Sunak is a member of a Party that has had the narrow-minded, vindictiveness of many of its members all too often on display in recent weeks.. It has appeared incapable of governing in the interest of the country. The markets may have steadied a little on recent news but the ship of state is still holed below the waterline. They may be frantically bailing it out with weasel words but the extreme right wing would seem to prefer to watch it founder than support the 'traitor' Sunak at the helm.

We need a General Election. Let the people speak and bring light into our country.
