More Tory lies in Matlock

Whoever wrote the latest Conservative campaign leaflet for Matlock had clearly not been concentrating when briefed about planning applications and developments in the town.
Perhaps the Tory candidates wrote it themselves, which might explain it, as none of those standing in Matlock West ward actually lives in Matlock. However you would still have expected them to do their homework properly.

It seems that the candidates, desperate to distance themselves from the recent housing developments, passed by the Conservative controlled District Council, are trying to re-write history.
It is the Lib Dems who have always opposed the Gritstone Road (Wolds) development that the controlling Conservative group forced into the 2017 Local Plan.
It is Lib Dems who have sounded the alarm about the impact of too much development on the Bentley Brook catchment - ignored by the Conservative controlled Council.
Only now when the Tories realise how unpopular this type of development has become are they saying that they are no longer in favour of it!
