Matlock Town Council wishes to support local business as much as possible during these challenging times and is encouraging businesses in the town to sign up to www.shopappy.com as soon as possible, to help their customers reach their products, even during 'lockdown'.

ShopAppy is a one stop, local, online support platform which enables customers to see what local shops and services have to offer, all in one place.

The Derbyshire Economic Partnership, which comprises of Derbyshire County Council and eight partner district councils, is working to help support local businesses during these difficult times. There is normally a charge to sign up but the Partnership has taken care of the first-year membership fee to the award winning ShopAppy.com platform.

This means Matlock businesses can sign up FOR FREE for the first year. Funding is limited so the Town Council is urging businesses to sign up without delay.

Cllr. Paul Cruise: "As a Town Council we want to promote and support local businesses especially given this very challenging year. Shopappy is a great way for local businesses to promote and sell their products and services on line to local residents. It allows for click and collect and delivery options and will give residents an easy way to see what's available locally."

ShopAppy.com, which has already launched in 150 towns in the UK, was created four years ago to provide an alternative way for places and small businesses to compete with online retail giants, allowing customers to book events and experiences as well as browse and buy local products online.

In addition to this the Town Council plans to feature a 'directory' of local businesses on their website to further help local businesses during the ongoing uncertainty over the festive period. Details to be finalised. Businesses can register with ShopAppy here www.shopappy.com/vendor
