Sponge Boris 2

Why is the country only belatedly becoming aware of Boris Johnson's tendency to weasel money out of distant relatives and cronies of the Conservative Party? Can it be that his own party is embarrassed by his sponging off others to support a lifestyle that he obviously cannot actually afford and yet clearly feels he is somehow entitled to?

The former Prime Minister appears to be incapable of managing his own finances and is forever subsidised by those who must believe that such ineptitude does not disqualify him from public office.

The narcissism and entitlement that Johnson so clearly displays should be banner headlines, not ignored by much of the media. The Conservative Party obviously hope that the electorate, so stressed by daily lives burdened by the fear of debt, haven't time to notice.

It is, however, doubtful that his long-suffering constituents in Uxbridge congratulate him on his ability to live beyond his means with exotic holidays, thus avoiding his political surgeries and listening to their concerns.

Parliament abounds with rumours that as Johnson's Uxbridge and Ruislip seat is in peril of being lost to Labour at the next general election, then he is trying to do a switch to a safer conservative seat. It is even rumoured that his eyes have wandered in the direction of Derbyshire. Heaven forbid!

The yawning chasm between Johnson's commitment to constituency work and his love of self-promotion and gratuitous acceptance of hospitality should be a stark warning to whichever constituency that has Johnson foisted upon it in the future!
