The blame game
When a system is failing and those in charge of it refuse to take responsibility, blame becomes their only resource.
Dominic Raab, facing accusations of bullying from three departments: Ministry of Justice, Foreign Office and former Brexit Department, still somehow believes he "behaved professionally at all times". This is classic "If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen', blame those you berate, of being too weak to take it.
Liz Truss in her deluded rambling essay in The Telegraph used a scatter-gun approach to blame " I was not given a realistic chance to enact my policies by a very powerful economic establishment, coupled with a lack of political support,".
Blaming others for their inadequacies and failings only proves how far the Conservative Party has descended into the realms of political self-deluded denial. This is a party in free fall thrashing around in a desperate attempt to cling to power.
Nadine Dorres has chosen, along with others, to jump ship at the next election, showing an insight that she rarely exhibited in office. Others will doubtless follow in this desertion with some, like the new Deputy Party Chairman, continuing to spout nonsense and leave a trail of destructive vitriol in their downward spiral.
Enough of this! Bring on the General Election.
