Are Tories ‘good with money’?

Refurbishing a kitchen and bathroom just before you want to sell a property might make sense for an average householder. However the decision by Conservative controlled Derbyshire County Council to consult on closing Ladycross House care home in Sandiacre after they have recently spent tens of thousands on refurbishment does make you wonder if they have a coherent plan for care provision in the county.

In the depths of the first lockdown when most of us were confined to our homes for much of the day there was much talk of how this sacrifice should not be in vain. Instead it was to be a watershed and we would emerge from the crisis and rebuild a world in which things were greener and fairer.
