We aim to become the largest party on Derbyshire Dales District Council & Derbyshire County Council but to do that we need people to stand as Lib Dem candidates at every election. Are you willing to help us achieve our goal and make Derbyshire and Derbyshire Dales fairer, greener and more Liberal? If you will consider standing as a candidate, please get in touch with Roger Shelley, our local party chair and DDDC Councillor. He is happy to have an informal chat with no obligation and can explain what is involved and the extensive support & training that we can provide. Contact Roger by phone or text on 07887 380334.
Our local party covers the Westminster Constituency of Derbyshire Dales and Derbyshire Dales District Council.
We are the largest party on DDDC and we lead Derbyshire Dales District Council governing in a Progressive Alliance.
Steve Flitter, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats on DDDC said - We are delighted to come together as 3 progressive Parties to offer the residents and businesses of the Derbyshire Dales a new approach to local politics. We know that our District faces many challenges, not least the cost of living crisis, the shortage of affordable housing for our young families and the threat to our environment from new developments and pollution.
Working together we will support our communities in the best and most effective way, and provide them with genuinely value-for-money services.

Whilst we welcome the overdue sacking of Nadhim Zahawi it raises the wider question of why the 'Super Rich' seek to avoid paying tax. It would seem that paying zero tax is a badge of honour and they portray tax as theft of their hard earned wealth.
When even a stalwart Conservative voter like Rod Stewart decides to slip anchor and says the country is better off without the Tories then there really is something seriously amiss with them and their policies. Unfortunately for the likes of Sir Rod, it would appear that his beloved party and more specifically Jeremy Hunt - the man with his hands on our purse strings - just doesn't 'get it". Hunt's comment that people are "not remotely interested in personal tax affairs" is so far off the mark that it defies belief in his political intelligence.

Carers are not just support for their loved ones—they are the glue holding our fragile social care system together. They deserve more than token acknowledgements or empty promises.
Liberal Democrats believe that everyone has the right to enjoy clean, safe water and unpolluted rivers, lakes, and coastlines. We are committed to ending the national sewage scandal and holding water companies accountable for their environmental impact.
